Services overlap, but begin with your main task. A good reading experience, a well-organised bookmark collection and a self-hosted archive solve different problems.

When Potom fits

Potom is useful when your finds include articles, videos, recipes, product reviews and work resources. Share accessible material on Android and return to a card with the source. Depending on the material, analysis can identify a film, extract products or organise ingredients and steps.

If you only need a reading queue, test the reading experience first. A summary does not replace the original article, and a saved URL does not guarantee that its source will remain available.

Test the migration with a small sample

  1. Find an existing export or collect a few links you still use.
  2. Check the formats accepted by your chosen service.
  3. For Potom, use compatible browser bookmark HTML.
  4. Inspect titles, sources and folder tags after import.
  5. Try finding an item a few days later before moving the rest.

Potom supports up to 5,000 links per bookmark import. This is a one-time transfer, not ongoing browser synchronisation. Private, deleted or inaccessible sources may remain links without fully extracted article text.

Keep control of your collection

Keep your original file. Check deletion and any available transfer options in the destination service. The practical test is whether you can reopen useful material when you need it, without maintaining an elaborate filing system.
